The Divergence Index. Two groups of media, one gap.
/v1/divergence/current returns the gap between the tone of the mainstream financial outlets and the crypto-native outlets that HafidWatch monitors, over the last 24 hours. It describes coverage. It does not predict prices.
- Mainstream vs crypto-native sentiment, measured separately
- Gap expressed in percentage points
- Updated every hour, as new articles are processed
- Weekly historical series for your own analysis
- Based on a small set of sources, so short windows hold few articles. Full methodology →

Every endpoint returns JSON and is documented at api.hafidwatch.com. Authentication via X-HafidWatch-Key header. Add ?format=csv to any list-based endpoint to download it as a CSV file instead of JSON.

Common questions.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Write to us through our contact form, mention “API trial”, and we will send you a 7-day trial key with Developer-level access. No credit card required.
How is the Divergence Index calculated?
We split the sources HafidWatch monitors into two groups: mainstream financial media (currently CNBC) and crypto-native media (such as Cointelegraph, Decrypt, CryptoSlate and Protos). AI models from OpenAI label each article as bullish, bearish, neutral or mixed. The Divergence Index is the gap, in percentage points, between the share of bullish articles in each group. It updates every hour as new articles are processed. Articles are not weighted by outlet or by recency.
How do I authenticate API requests?
All requests require a X-HafidWatch-Key header with your API key. Keys are generated after subscription and sent to your email. Full documentation is available at api.hafidwatch.com/docs.
What’s the uptime SLA?
There is no formal SLA today. GET /v1/status (no API key required) returns the measured uptime over the last 24h/7d/30d, checked every 5 minutes. Anyone can query it and see the same number we do.
How do webhooks work?
Available on Pro and Enterprise plans. Register a URL via POST /v1/webhooks along with the events you care about — signal (a Premium Alert fires), weekly_score (a new HafidWatch Score is published), or api_status (the API’s up/down state changes). Every delivery is signed with a per-subscription secret via the X-HafidWatch-Signature header (HMAC-SHA256), so you can verify that it came from HafidWatch before you trust the payload.
Can I use the data commercially?
Yes. All plans include commercial use rights, under our Terms & Conditions. White-label use is available only on the Enterprise plan. Do not share your API key.
How much data is behind the numbers?
HafidWatch monitors seven news sources and processes roughly 70 articles a week. A 24-hour window can hold only a handful of articles, and the mainstream group is the smaller of the two, so short-window figures can swing on one or two stories. The history limits in each plan are maximums: the data goes back only as far as HafidWatch has collected it.
Is the data a trading signal?
No. The API returns measurements of media coverage, labeled by AI models that can be wrong. It does not predict prices and it is not financial advice. If you use it in a trading system, you do so at your own risk. See our Financial Disclaimer.
When does the API launch?
Public launch is planned for October 28, 2026. You can request early access now through our contact form. Trial keys are available before the launch date.
