The Series A, led by Left Lane Capital, comes as cross-border stablecoin flows rise and DTCC readies an October tokenization launch; HIFI cites ~$7B annualized throughput.

Stablecoin infrastructure firm HIFI has raised $37 million in a Series A funding round led by Left Lane Capital. CEO Zach Walsh told Cointelegraph it is the company’s first priced round and that HIFI is processing roughly $7 billion in annualized volume; the company did not disclose its valuation.

The raise lands amid a divergence between payments demand and broader crypto prices. Chainalysis data shows cross-border stablecoin flows rose 77.5% to $220.3 billion in the 12 months to June 2026, even as the wider crypto market shrank by more than a third over the same period.

HIFI’s platform moves dollars into and out of stablecoins, supports US payouts over bank rails and cards, and settles the cash side of tokenized repo and US Treasury transactions. Walsh said the financing will support scaling that tokenized capital markets infrastructure and expanding stablecoin payments products.

Incumbents are also building. Firms such as Visa and the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) have been rolling out or testing blockchain-based financial infrastructure. In July, DTCC conducted production trades using tokenized representations of assets across Treasury and repo delivery-versus-payment, equity transactions, securities lending and collateral workflows. HIFI was among more than 30 participants, alongside BlackRock, Goldman Sachs and Nasdaq. DTCC plans to launch its Tokenization Service in October.

The mechanism

As more assets and payouts move on-chain, the scarce resource is the USD cash leg—regulated dollar movement with programmatic controls that can meet delivery-versus-payment (DvP) requirements. That requires tightly integrated bank-rail connectivity, payouts to cards and ACH/wires, and settlement workflows that line up with tokenized asset movements. HIFI’s product set targets that chokepoint.

Implications

HIFI’s reported ~$7 billion annualized throughput suggests some traction, though it is small relative to sector-level stablecoin flows reported by Chainalysis. For institutional tokenization efforts, however, the relevant signal is whether cash-leg settlement becomes plug-and-play. If DTCC’s October launch names recurring connectors for USD settlement, that could quickly concentrate flow with a few providers.

Limitations

Key details remain undisclosed: valuation, customer concentration, economics and compliance posture. Importantly, HIFI’s participation in DTCC’s tests does not establish a role in DTCC’s production service.

What to watch next

Specifics of DTCC’s Tokenization Service launch, including named cash-settlement providers; any new bank or network integrations from HIFI; and whether HIFI’s processed volume accelerates after October. Evidence on customer wins (issuers, dealers, asset managers) would materially upgrade confidence in HIFI’s positioning.

🧠 HafidWatch Take

HIFI’s ~$7 billion annualized throughput indicates some traction in addressing the key bottleneck of USD cash-leg settlement in tokenized finance. The critical development will be if DTCC’s Tokenization Service names recurring cash-settlement connectors like HIFI, potentially elevating it from pilot participant to a core provider. Despite this progress, valuation, client concentration, and economic details remain unclear, so the current investment case is based more on potential than certainty. Key factors to monitor include announcements of institutional integrations and whether HIFI’s transaction volumes grow sustainably after DTCC’s October launch.
